From August 17 to 28, Enlarge your Paris and the Société du Grand Paris will be organizing the third edition of the Walking Tour of ‘le Grand Paris,’ a two hundred kilometer loop, following along the future lines of the Grand Paris Express, discovering the green spaces in the metropolitan area! Two stages of the tour allow for seeing the exhibition Regards du Grand Paris, displayed on the fencing on the construction sites for the future metro, the Grand Paris Express.
During this day of walking, the urban hikers will be discovering the ancient 19th century fort in Chelles, then going to explore the construction site for a park created inside a former quarry in the heights of Chelles, with the excavated earth from the Grand Paris Express, then climbing to the heights of Mont Guichet. After crossing through to the arboretum of Montfermeil, the hikers will pause at the Ateliers Médicis building, where some of the works commissioned for the series Regards du Grand Paris are on display. They will then move to the Parc de la Poudrerie and the canal de l’Ourcq, which is their final destination. The walkers will follow the buried aqueduct of the Dhuys in the forest of Bondy, and will have a terrific view of the landscape from the heights of Coubron and of Vaujours.
