Cité lacustre
Born in 1978 in Le Mans, France.
Lives and works in the Paris area, France.
Cité lacustre documents the metamorphosis of the Lake in Vaires-sur-Marne, a hybrid area between the city and the country. At week’s end there is an old tradition which happens on Sundays on the banks of the Marne river, more lively than one might imagine: the dawn mists give way to the heavy smoke from family barbecues, gangs of adolescents circling around them; fishermen take shelter in the reeds, and lovers hide beneath discreet aspen trees. Slowly, Lucie Jean encountered a number of these people… In many of their discussions, one thing kept coming up, the Lake.
This could be just a small site on the coast, but there is no ocean here, we are at the beginnings of ‘le Grand Paris.’
