Khalil Nemmaoui

Visibles invisibles

Born in 1967 in the Middle Atlas, Morocco.
Lives and works between Casablanca, Morocco and Paris, France.

The artist documents the lives of the “chibanis” of Paris, men who came to France to work, sometimes able to join their families there, or coming on their own. Constrained by the draconian travel restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the photographer built his photographic series from Casablanca, creating portraits of exiles who have returned to their native countries.
