Marie Quéau

Field Recording

Born in 1985 in Choisy-le-Roi, France.
Lives and works in Paris, France.

The prevalence of video surveillance has created unsettled spaces which are signs of the disintegration of our shared lives. During the transformations of ‘le Grand Paris,’ the growing number of surveillance structures requires us to examine the arbitrary distance and importance of documenting these spaces, where we will unfortunately never see the images. The artist installs video cameras on his own body and creates a kaleidoscopic series of photos in the different layers of an urban reality, broken up and spied upon.
