A public establishment, created on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, the CN D brings together all the resources at the service of the choreographic sector and the public. It accompanies and trains professional dancers, promotes amateur practice, aids research, preserves and disseminates the choreographic heritage, supports the creation of choreographic works in all its diversity, and dialogues with other artistic fields.
The social landlord Toit et Joie – Poste Habitat, through its Department of Culture, has joined forces with the Ateliers Médicis and the National Center for Plastic Arts (Cnap) to offer the inhabitants of Saint-Denis an artistic project in link with the national photographic commission of Regards du Grand Paris. Accompanied by the artist photographer Gilberto Güiza-Rojas, winner of the commission in 2018, a group of residents imagined an exhibition for the Toit et Joie residence in Saint-Denis, bringing together their own images taken in their neighborhood with a selection photographs of Regards du Grand Paris.
This creation and curating project can be seen at the National Dance Center (CN D), where the images of the participants in the project are exhibited with those of the artists of the national commission.
Images produced by Christine, Conchita, Évelyne, Geneviève, Gisèle, Jackie, Karima, Karin, Nadine, Sophie and Véronique, accompanied by artist photographer Gilberto Güiza-Rojas.
